IB Theatre SL & HL

This two-year course is an IB class dealing with theatre history, theory and criticism, playwrights and their works. This class covers and discusses theatre from its origin to its contemporary use. The following are only a few of the areas which are covered in this all-encompassing course:


Comedy, tragedy, Shakespeare, theatre as a means of making a social statement, how theatre led to the development of radio drama, movies (both silent and talking) and television.


One year course, 5 credits per semester

Grade levels: 11th and 12th

Prerequisite: Fundamentals of Acting CP or an approval of instructor
